I believed in forgiveness. I thought that the good would win. That the good would be rewarded and the evil would be punished. But I no longer believe that since I've had You for three months: in the back of my garden, you're hanging by your legs like a hive, your belly has a hole in it, your guts are hanging out. I have faith, but not in life. If you exist, maybe you'll make me better in my next life. And maybe you'll take better care of the bees. They can secure our lives. What am I even talking about? Make me well, so I will no longer kill without You. From now on, I will sprinkle each of my crimes with Godliness.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2023, the group has 10,220 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
