I want to caress her bare shoulders and get lost in the diaphanous pajamas until I reach their unknown depths. I wish to wander amidst her hair and feel the warmth of the dreams passing through under her temples. I want to gaze at her as she slowly rouses from her sleep, under the morning shower's warm droplets. I wish to taste the remnant of her kiss, as it trickles down on the side of her coffee cup. But alas, I keep on foolishly walking around in an empty cigarette pack and wondering fruitlessly with my bug's eye perspective, thinking about how I could get to the clothing's pocket, where I knew she'd forgotten half of an unfinished pretzel.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
