I tell him I will not release him from his chains unless he really loves me. I'd cook for him, comfort him, sometimes dance for him, kiss every piece of his skin, together we watch football, drink beer and spit sunflower seeds. In the beginning, he resists, then he starts to like it. Today he tells me with his eyes full of tears how deeply in love with me he is. That I'm his perfect woman. I do not want him anymore. I untie him from the chains and tell him to leave. He says he really loves me. Now I'm tied to the bed, and we watch Titanic together.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
