I'm crying. How could I not cry. I'm nervously swallowing my tears in hunger. On Monday, I have a salad. On Tuesday, I have half of a quail egg alongside a spoon of diet cheese. On Thursday and Sunday I feast, having no kind of food whatsoever. Just water. And I'll have water only after 7 pm. On Thursday, I have apples all day. But eating them unpeeled gets you fat. On Saturday, I have salad again plus 80 crunches. How the hell could you not cry when you have a cake right in front of your face and it's not Sunday, your carbs day? Post-cake note: it's done, I ate it all. Well, what can I say, I dumped the diet, life is way too awesome.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
