My mother was working at metric areas. I did not understand what it meant when I was little. I grew up and I learnt about the metre. So metric area comes from metre. My mother was an unhappy fairy. She was wrapping herself in meters of black veil meant to protect her from the world. Her marriage with my father turned out to be a short footage. When I studied filmmaking, I understood that a short film is a movie with less than 1,500 meters of film. But in these meters, we gathered altogether, me, my mother, and my other brothers. If you listened to my mother, her marriage would deserve an Oscar.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
