Sitting in the shade of the cherry trees, on a green spring day, with closed eyes I listen to the velvety rain of petals. From my fingertips I send the bridge to you. From my skin leaves burst frantically, sprawling vines grow, furiously seeking you. I wait with tickled impatience for the impact, the tickling tickle in your skin, the heat of your pulse repeatedly striking the tips of my branches. I want to clutch at a rib, to wrap and pull, so you'll listen. I want us to make peace, to finally make peace.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
