I parked in front of your gate. I was told that the first 500 years are free. Too little. What are 500 years? A few nights of love, a few quarrels and reconciliations, a hard drive with photos and a few glasses of wine forgotten on the terrace. Too little. I want millions of kisses and billions of "good night, honey." What should I do with 500 years? I want them all. All your years and mine, from the creation of the world to its end. And then we'll start again. I don't know how to count to 500, I know how to count to infinity.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
