Alone again. Third divorce. He was being honest with them. That's it, I learned my lesson, he told himself after finding the fourth one. After the first year of marriage, his wife begins to gain weight. Am I fluffy, honey? You aren't fluffy at all. You're perfect. She was obese in the fourth year. One morning he finds her in the kitchen nibbling on something. What do we have for breakfast? he asks her. Lies and corn puffs, his wife answers with her mouth full. What do you prefer? The truth, he said figuratively. The truth is, I'm leaving you, she said, handing him a bitter coffee.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
