I don't want to leave. Everything I know I learned here: how to move, to hit, to feel, how to listen to your heartbeats and your conversations with the others. Here I learned to love your voice. Here you formed my heart, hands and legs. Here you gave me a name. From a runt I became Teuta. I don't want to go away. I'm scared.
I can hear your calling. Why do you want me to come? Keep me here, please. Two hands grasp me.
"Congratulations, you have a grade A girl. Write it down on the calendar, 32nd of January 2030."
Where am I? Mom, where are you?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
