I need to see her. Now.
With the IV behind me, I woke up wandering the hallway at 3 A.M. Where are the incubators? She's still so tiny, we'll keep her warm until tomorrow, they told me. I'm looking for her, with my face pressed upon the window door of the babies room. But how do you distinguish a newborn from other newborns? I burst into laughter. Among rosy cheeks and tiny blond heads, it's She, Mine, she could be seen in the distance, a brown monkey with 2 centimeters of hair and hands clenched into fists. She was sleeping with heroic dedication and confidence.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
