It is so hard. My head's gonna split open from this unnamed headache. Why am I supposed to endure. Why have I bought this god damned apartment. Why is he always on the phone and grumbles annoyed when I ask him something. Why is the baby crying so hard, that I feel an urge to throw him out of a window. Why is my boss an idiot who has a crush on me. Why I avoid looking in the mirror. Why is it that I can't remember when was the last time that we have laughed together. A ticket to Alaska, please. Here you go, are you all right? Sorry, a black coffee.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
