I told her I wanted us to go spend some time in nature, as a surprise. She put on her Adibas tracksuit, tucked her phone into that Dihor handbag, we got in the car and I drove her to the Dolce Cabana. I got the suitcase given to me by Luis Victor out of the trunk, and we stepped into our little love nest beneath the woods. Candles, champagne, a large bed. She wasn't impressed by any of it. She expected a ring. I offered her a jewel of a song to listen to, of Şwarovski's. She told me to shove it in the pocket of my Nikoi sports suit.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
