"I know you're a busy man, I'm not going to hold you up for long. I have here the best script for your next film. First scene: the main character eats some soup in a cafeteria. Silently, for 15 minutes. The camera records his every mouthful, spoon for spoon, from up close so that the crumbs in his soup soaked beard are visible. Suddenly he gets up and starts killing everyone in the room with said spoon. Well, what do you say, Tarantino, sir?" "Who the fuck are you and how did you get into my house?"

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
