This time I was wearing a red wig and my name was Eva. I was always the first to arrive. He entered timidly, sat next to me, and told me I was beautiful. Two minutes earlier than usual, he stood up nervously and apologized for having to leave. Apparently, he had forgotten what day it was and that he had an important meeting.
For 5 years and 4 days, every Thursday morning, I date my husband. Because of the accident, he forgets everything the next day and starts it all over again. The only thing he actually remembers is the Thursday date, but he can never tell whom he dated.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
