There have been signs from the very beginning. In the morning, his left eye was twitching. Then a black cat cut him off. The mother-in-law interrupted his ritual of circling the toiled 10 times. And although every forecast was showing good weather (that's why they were having an outdoor wedding), a storm suddenly whipped up. It bit off the groom's head, it took the cake far and away. In that moment, Florin, soaking wet, ran away for good, leaving the bride behind.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
