The seed of the end is planted in every beginning. But, still, how could you make your boyfriend paint you like this, like half of your face was bruised. How can you improvise a splint for your left arm from a notebook. How much gauze did you use to wrap your torso. What do you mean you jumped from the second floor. What are you saying. Your parents were part of it. Why was it just the two of us in the house. Why do you have a broken key. How could you not be able to leave. You faked your suicide for a kiss.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
