They prowled around one another like two dragonflies. They knew, they didn't just feel that they were the only one in the entire Universe. It was just the two of them and their love. In fact, just them, One Being and their love. They didn't need any food, they gloated over one another. Not even the clothes had any utility, they merged cell by cell. Their glances had become Ouroboros. But one day, the second hand of a clock could be heard ticking. Tic-tac. The sands had become to run out. The alarm clock rang and the intellect woke up and asked: Hey, at what hour did your mama say that she will arrive today?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
