I do not know you, you do not know me. And yet we are glued to each other. It's not like we had a choice. You took me hostage. You didn't even talk to me. You do not feed me. You are teasing me. And every time this happens, I start fidgeting. It is not like I could stop. This is tormenting me even more. You let them break me into pieces. How? Hooow? We rely on each other. Even though you do not see it. Or perhaps don't hear it. Maybe I should try even harder. How loud should I knock in your chest so you can hear me out?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
