God, if it weren't for the block across the street, I could see the cathedral rising. But what can I do in this case? Would it be permitted to steal a glance at it? Cuz it's not written in the Bible. There, those on the seventh floor are more sinful than me cuz they're arguing again. I think the jerk forgot about March 8th this time. On the fourth, at the window, the shaggy man is chain-smoking. Isn't he cold? Let's see what my soft spot on the third floor does, she must've arrived home. Jeez, I screwed it up. She got a telescope too and she keeps an eye on me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
