Yes, hello. Who's speaking? Yes madam I work the weekends too, how can I help you? You can't find the meaning? What kind of meaning? Meaning of life? Well, how can I help you with this? Yeah, well, I'm the one who investigates. Hold on, madam, how can I help you find the meaning of life? Does it seem to you I'm a philosopher too? Well, yes, madam, that's how I introduced myself, but I've got no business with this kind of things. Come on, you're pushing your luck, people used to call 911 when they got bored, not my office. But, Madam, have you looked under the bed?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
