I know the map with my eyes closed, there I am, in the library, my aunt lets me stay there as much as I want, between the shelves and dusty papers. Beyond there I am, with my fingers spotted by mulberries in purple, I hugged the entire trunk, I spoon with a stoned stag beetle of fear and I call I do not come down. On the right side, there are red rooms, there does my heart beat and hurt me, on the left side, there are blue rooms, there I float, fly and dance. I peek outside through the slightly open door and with my clenched teeth, I open it.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
