I put on the plastic surgeon's table torn photos from newspapers. So, I want Angelina Jolie's mouth, Scarlett Johansson's chin and skin, Zeta-Jones's ears, Elizabeth Taylor's green eyes and Julia Roberts's hair. As concerns the nose, I thought of the one owned by Meryl Streep. I know, it is crooked, but she won so many Oscar prizes with it. What do you say about my combination, doctor? Isn't it perfect? The surgeon leaves the room and tells the nurse: Take the axe. We make her a head transplant. She is in need of another brain too.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
