I just moved to Los Angeles. I have a really good job and I rented an apartment with a dream view. But something is still not right. The mistress stayed in the town that I left. And how I miss her. But look, she's calling me on my cell phone. She came in town and we'll see each other right now. The husband is busy with affairs. I run to her and as soon as I get there we end up in bed. I hear the front door. It's my husband, run out the window at once. What, are you crazy? We're on the 13th floor. No need to be superstitious now, she says.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
