I rejected people with two or three universities, from state colleges, not private, with master's degrees, with the Sorbone, Harvad, Osford, not trifles. There also came those with huge experience in the country and abroad, with kilometers of pages in their CVs. And they left as they came, because the clothes do not define the human, neither does the book. I make him, my muscle and I, as he wants. And you? You're dumb and arrogant. So you got the job. For now on you are the boss of the bosses as I just did not work in vain, bless your heart, what a smart boy you are.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
