Two months ago, after a car crash, I ended up in hell. I'd thought about this since I was alive, but I always calmed down thinking there were many I was going to meet again there. Fear of loneliness had nothing on me. The first days, I was in shock. There was nobody there and I'd have done anything to see someone. One day, after 6 PM, while going to the evening procedure, I saw her. My wife. A saint. How could it be? She was like a magnet. She took my hand and whispered in my ear: make the most of what you have.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
