Where is that damned sock? Man, I swear to God that the Earth is swallowing them! Look: a pile of socks and not even a pair. I cannot take this anymore. I feel like my head is going to burst out. And it also got really dark outside. Then, I went through a tunnel, following the light at the end of it. I never managed to make it. I have no idea for how long I floated between worlds. When I opened my eyes, there some young people sitting next to me. I recognized them as being my kids. We were sure you would wake up today, mom. We've finished pairing up the socks.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
