Come in. Don't be scared. I think we're the last ones. I heard that there were still some lost through the Amazon, but as the Amazon is burning, they will also die. All of the nations and religions are gathered here, even all sex interests, but none of these matters. Our planet is burning. There is no one to debate whether it is from natural causes or not. Do you want water? It's probably full of plastic, but we've known that for a while now. You can sleep in a cave. We will hide out here in the light. Who knows, maybe one day this place will become a museum one day.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
