Well, Jean, three days out of seven you're drunk. You just sit and whine like a sissy. At work, you cut corners. Your performance is under 1%, you fool. Tell you what, just leave it. This ain't for you. What future is there for you? You'll take my place at best. Courier team leader, big a deal. She needs a doctor, a lawyer, a patron, to take her out clubbing, take her to Ibiza. You? Shawarma and Dridu, to your mother's. What is your strong point? Romance? That's nothing. Women like macho men. Macho, form manhood. That's not you, Jean. I saw it when you were pissing.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
