I'm going to the store, what do you want daddy to bring you? Well, I want some bananas. Aaa, and a box neither too big nor too small, but solid. And a chain tied to her. But what do you need that for? Well, it's for mom. I heard her say yesterday that having a baby is like always walking with your heart around your body. And I want to give her the box, to put her heart in it so as not to drag it like that after her. Ooh, my dear, I think this heart is you. Aaa, so do I have to get inside the box? Okay, then take a bigger one. And put the bananas inside.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
