Miss Mărioara turns and twists, pulls all the blanket from over mister Aurel. She mutters something, mumbles like a breastfed baby. She turns around and slaps him hardly. Mărioara, are you crazy? Wake up before you bruise me all over. Be careful, I work the shift one and I'll leave again dead tired. You and your bloody movies. Mărioara stands up, covered in sweat.
Aurică, I was dreaming of us being at a restaurant and that we ordered seafood. I was dropping that delicious tray. You, Mărie, go back to sleep and order something cheaper.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
