The centipede got out of the closet tactfully. It didn't matter anymore that his family lived there for generations, or that his wife threw him a bag and a child on his back. He was tired of old clothes, cardboard boxes and mothballs. He didn't have anything else in his plan. Just to eat an apple or a leather handbag. He climbed the kitchen table and flapping all his feet, went towards an apple. A slap suck his stomach to his back. His last thought was his wife screaming at him that the closet does not feed you but it keeps you alive.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
