Dora was 98 years old and she would make cakes and tea every morning, hoping that Death would come to visit. Tired of so much waiting, one day she decided to go to her house. She lit a cigarette and threw a stone at her window. Death put on a robe and went downstairs. Asshole, you're late, I've been waiting for you for 16 years. When you came to get my Ghita, I kept thinking that you would come back for me too. Shame on you for always going where no one invites you. I'm afraid of you, Dora. And she slams the door in Dora's face.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
