We were living in a store up until yesterday. Très chic. Women would pass by and lavish us with attention. Magnifique. Until this imbécile appeared and bought us for his girlfriend. We were très enchantés. She welcomed us très well. She admired us with tears in her eyes and squealed: red shoes. She put us on. Everything went south from there on. The idiote couldn't walk on heels. Horreur. She waddled on, fell on her derrière and started cursing. Angered by the event, she turned us into flats. Look what we became. Merde.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
