They looked like two red, magical mushrooms, under the light of the Moon. Keeping their distance, they regarded them cautiously, taking in the star dust and the bizarre innocent fragrance. One of them took a step towards them, hearing the whispers of the others: "You can\'t eat those." "I won\'t.", they replied while getting closer, mesmerized by their glow. A little girl was sleeping, curled up at the base of the tree, with lacquered shoes on. The bunny sighed in relief and curled up besides her. It signaled the others: "Let\'s keep her warm, until the sunrise."

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
