Every time I think about suicide, the neighbors' cat appears at the window with a view to the garden. It taps the window sad with its paw, meows quietly and stares over my right shoulder, as if it saw something awful there. What's the matter, Tomita, you're back. Let me open it for you. How are you? Everything's fine? Good. Me, nothing new, same old. I was thinking about a trip, we've already talked about it. No, I can't take you with me. Why are you rubbing your big head against me. Who else gives you bio-chicken?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
