Mom and Pops got together on Christmas, at the Community Center in the village. On New Year's Eve they had sex on stage, behind a curtain, between the wall and the screen a movie was projected on. Mom was a virgin, suffering over the miller's son, who married another miller's daughter instead of her. She got knocked up on the first try. She tried forcing an abortion with a geranium broth, after which a woman offered to help. Forty weeks and two failed abortions later, I was born.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
