Mom was away from the room for a very short time. Just enough to make a semolina with milk for the little girl. When she returned, she found Maia at the top of the bed. The Golden Retriever Oscar was also near Maia. The bed was full of makeup and lipstick. The cream-colored blanket was no longer really cream-colored everywhere. Oscar now had blue eyebrows. His nose was red all around. Burgundy red. All that was left of her favourite lipstick was the case. Who did this, Maia? A little finger pointed resolutely at Oscar. The dog wagged his tail happily.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
