I was hitchhiking with a poppy in my hair when a Harley stopped. I blushed with emotion as I rode, I inhaled the smell of gnawed black skin until I was dizzy. He stopped in the woods for an emergency and walked away decently. I watched him indecently. When I continued on my way, I was no longer on the motor but on a horse that had eaten embers. My nostrils were filled with all the stables of the earth. The poppy had run out of petals. I later realized that at the last stop that Prince Charming had stepped on a dung.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
