"A bombshell hit us", he heard Nigel through the screams. He didn't answer. Lying on his back, he looked up at the sky thankful he had escaped. Although they had been colleagues, they had never been at a party together, but strangely, in front of him were unfolding images from a party where they both were. "Drink, Ted, drink!" the lieutenant was shouting with a laugh, "It's wine from my vineyard." His lips were burned. He put his hands on his belly, clenched his palms, and they filled with the color of the wine from his dream. "The wine is warm and sweet", he whispered, growing stiff, his eyes fixed at the sky.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
