Night of day, he looked for a crack in the wall, he got out of the shell on his toes, he calculated his steps not to step on a painful memory, to scream in himself, he feared not be caught while touching the flesh of the eternal wrong mistakes, then he got up tired as if the whole city ran on him across the wall and he never found an escape, but, day of night, he new that he was going to catch the ridge of the endlessness tightly, as if it were a dragon, and gallop freely without caring what the others say.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
