I messed up. My love is pregnant. She says she wanted to keep the baby, divorce Anne and marry her. She ruined my day. Actually, she ruined my whole life. You crazy woman, I don't need any more children, I already have three at home. And I invested so much in this relationship. A rented flat, a new car, exotic vacations, expensive restaurants. I'm not even going to talk about the clothes and jewellery. How can I tell Anne that I've been a fool and that I skimped myself on condoms? What do I do now? Such a mess, isn't it?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
