From 2 Mai to Vama. 4 kilometres and a bit of wind. A red backpack on her back, and an orange one on mine. Silence. A bellows bus that smelled of diesel fuel left us at La Dobrogeanu'. We didn't find accommodation. A Vama Veche street sign. We're on the way. We laugh with memories. The sun laughs too among the trees that guard the almost straight road. They will cut them for good in a couple of years. Good old Ion takes us into his large, clean yard, full of flowers. We leave our problems in the small room, and, feeling excited, we greet the sea.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
