You know, I've been two years in college, then I quit, the boy who sells shell necklaces on the beach tells me. In high school I was a nerd, I know I don't look like it, I liked astronomy and philosophy, but my parents sent me to ASE to study accounting. Let me tell you a joke. You ask a scientist, a philosopher and an accountant what equals 2 + 2. The scientist says 4. The philosopher - maybe 4, maybe 5 or 7,450, what is that reality? The accountant closes the door and asks: how much do you want to do? Look, I can't do that, I want to live under the stars.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
