CHow many children do you want? Three. You and me and a little us. Let the five of us sit at the table at the tea room and the adults see only two small children fighting with whipped cream. What irresponsible parents, to leave them alone like this, a serious lady would say. Where are mommy and daddy, that tough man would intriguingly ask us and you would show him your tongue, like you did in the picture of your card. Where would they be? Above, they swing on a rainbow, because they are not elephants. How many do you want? I want a hopscotch to jump from 2 to 2 to 5, and cheat our age.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
