A brunette man with black eyes, this is the one who loves you, I'm telling you. But there is a woman that won't give him peace, here, look. He's bewitched. Look at her, the blonde one, with the green eyes. We have to get rid of her so he can be with you. Give me your necklace, your earrings and your bracelet and I'm gonna put a good spell on you. But listen to me, only take them off after midnight and put them in salted water, keep them there for three days. Understood? Because if you don't do that, you'll break the spell and the man won't come to you. Now, miss, give me a little something, for good luck.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
