In the showcase that jolts with every little movement, there lived a lonely and stocky crimson crystal glass. His brothers died, and were broken in festive circumstances. He secretly loved one of the tea cups from the flowery set. He was dreamily staring at the fine china face and felt blood rushing through his face. He even loved the small nick next to the handle. With every jolt the showcase made, he was getting just a bit closer, so fearful. It took him years, but, in the end, he got so close that he was touching her. Hey, boss, who do you think you are? shouted the plate. The lady's with me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
