Open your mouth, say aah. Silver coin, check. Now, take the pen and write: I, the undersigned, X, attest through my presence the sole payment of crossing over one side. Sign and add the date. Oh, one more thing, hold this stake, like this, pointing it to your heart. Boom, in one hammer move, it was piercing through his heart while he was staring with perplexed eyes. Oh, sorry for the inconvenience, but we added a security step; we've had small inconveniences lately and, you know, I'm not going to stretch it out, but drama, tears, I want to go back, you can't, anyway! Perfect, get on the boat.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
