I used to live in a kettle, at the 2nd floor of a cupboard from the Kitchen. Those have been the most beautiful years of my life. In the morning I was taking warm coffee or jasmine baths, at noon I was sleeping with the helmet covering my eyes, so that the sun would not enter through the cracks, in the evening I was throwing secret parties with a cormorant from a jar and a twisted man from a tiny mug. Sometimes the neighbours from 1st floor were knocking on our shelf, Pepper, Salt and Herbes de Provence. But we did not mind. As if we did not know the three of them were only tenants and would disappear at once.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2021, the group has 6.800 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
