Big, small, delicate, bold, I follow them daily with my binoculars from the balcony. When I see them, I'm drooling. I can't wait to smell them and know that they are mine, that I am sinking my face in them. I record every experience in my diary. I know my neighbors`, my wife`s, my colleagues`. I have even made a classification. I don't really know how the old women's are, but today I hope to find out. I've been longing for far too long. At 5 am in the morning, I sneaked into the balcony at Aunt Ana's. After I was hit in the head with the pan, I gave up panties of the octogenarian. I sell an incomplete collection.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
