Hey, skhool of life that all the guys're goin' thru, but not all of 'em finish it cuz some of 'em is thugs. Only who knows what to know knows what to know. Some of 'em is big shots, some of 'em is thugs, some of 'em is losers. Cuz not all of us are born the same and we don't die the same way we were born, ya get me? I was smart, I wandered around and saw how things are, I figured out how cash is made and what to do not to die as dumb as your momma made ya. And maybe I got lucky cuz I married who I had to. Welp, that's all I can say. The rest is secret, haha.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
